General Statement of Duties:

The Aging Disability & Transportation Resource Center (ADTRC) Resource Coach reports to the ADTRC Supervisor and is overseen by the ADTRC Program Manager. In this role, the Resource Coach acts as the primary point of contact for consumers, caregivers, and professionals, requiring a comprehensive understanding of social services agencies, particularly those related to aging adults, individuals with disabilities, and Veterans. The Resource Coach will become acquainted with contract requirements, ensuring the completion of monthly reports, preparation and sending of billing invoices, and processing of accounts payable, while maintaining accurate financial records for audit purposes. Effective communication is essential, as the role involves handling telephone inquiries and assisting walk-in visitors at the ADTRC. Serving El Paso County and the surrounding counties within Region 10, the Resource Coach supports various department programs and must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Assessment and Coordination: Help consumers understand their long-term service needs and assist them in making informed decisions. Coordinate linking consumers to various service options, transportation, and financial management resources.
  2. Promotion and Counseling: Promote awareness of available community options, especially among underserved populations. Provide counseling and decision support to consumers and their families or caregivers.
  3. Agency Operations: Assist in developing protocols between agencies, coordinate training events, and accurately maintain client information in management systems and files.
  4. Client Satisfaction and Reporting: Conduct client satisfaction surveys, provide follow-up with clients, and assist in preparing department reports for various agencies.
  5. Customer Service and Administrative Support: Provide excellent customer service, assist clients in person and over the phone, handle inquiries and complaints, and provide administrative support such as correspondence and report preparation.
  6. Financial Management: Apply knowledge of account reconciliation practices, use Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, submit check requests, maintain documentation for transactions, and assist with grant administration.
  7. Transaction Records: Keep accurate records of transactions and maintain documentation systematically to ensure availability for backup personnel.
  8. Accuracy and Audit Compliance: Ensure accuracy in service confirmation for programs, as detailed accuracy is crucial for audits.
  9. Cross-Training: Learn about different services offered through the ADTRC Department and serve as the main monitor for court-ordered visitation and exchange cases that may potentially require court testimony.
  10. Flexibility: Be willing to work weekends and holidays, and will need to remain flexible in completing other duties as assigned.
  11. Ability to multitask: Must be able to handle simultaneous tasks effectively and prioritize them as needed.
  12. Calls: Must be able to answer, screen, and respond to a high volume of calls efficiently.


Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   1. Knowledge of Eligibility Requirements: Understand the eligibility criteria and enrollment processes for various social service agencies such as Project Bravo, United Way, El Paso County General Assistance, Department of Aging and Disability Services, Area Agency on Aging, and Emergence Health Network. Familiarity with SNAP, TANF, CHIP, Medicaid, and Medicare eligibility requirements is essential.
  2. Experience with Children and Families in Distress: Experience working with children and families affected by domestic violence or experiencing distress, including those reliant on support systems.
  3. Understanding of Child Development and Family Dynamics: Possess knowledge of child development, family systems, domestic violence processes, mental health diagnoses, and related behaviors.
  4. Knowledge of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities: Understand intellectual and developmental disabilities and be familiar with programs and resources available to support individuals with these disabilities.
  5. Experience with Veterans: Experience working with Veterans and their beneficiaries by having awareness of resources available to them.
  6. Computer Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in various software programs, particularly word processing, spreadsheet applications, and related software like Adobe, Word, and Excel.
  7. Effective Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Customer Service Experience: Previous work experience in a customer service environment, including handling customer relations and telephone etiquette.
  9. Experience in Providing Work Direction: Ability to provide guidance and direction to peers and coworkers as necessary.
  10. Networking Skills: Experience in networking with service providers to enhance the delivery of streamlined services for aging adults, individuals with disabilities, and Veterans.
  11. Transportation and Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel to rural areas quarterly (such as Brewster, Culberson, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, and Presidio Counties). Expenses related to travel will be covered by the agency. Willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  12. Travel for training: Must be able to travel out of the city for required training and conferences periodically hosted by contractors throughout the year.


Certification and Licenses Required:

  • Associate's degree or four years of equal work or personal experience in the field of social services setting with related duties or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Community Partner Program (CPP) Navigator Certification is required within three months of employment.
  • Current driver's license or alternate means of transportation
  • Valid auto insurance
