As a key part of the UTSW onboarding new hire and transfer experience, the Talent Navigator Supervisor is responsible for designing and executing a high touch candidate experience that reflects the UTSW culture and provides an outstanding new hire experience providing expertise throughout the employee's lifecycle. This requires close collaboration and partnerships with a wide variety of internal and external partners including applicants, new hires, hiring managers, recruiters, vendors and UTSW departments within and outside Human Resources. The Talent Navigator team will provide support for new employees beyond orientation, continuing to be a resource for new employees.



Experience and Education

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field or four years of additional relevant experience accepted in lieu of education.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in one or more areas of Human Resource Administration or other service focused experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Process improvement experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (oral and written) and professional demeanor required.
  • Strong HR process knowledge and experience of HR Business Process framework including HR principals and practice as well as employment law compliance required.
  • Ability to recognize confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information and maintain such information as confidential required.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and collaborate well in a team required.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Management or related field preferred.
  • Experience in Talent Acquisition recruiting or onboarding highly preferred.
  • Experience with ATS, CRM and HRM systems - specifically Taleo and PeopleSoft products, preferred.
  • Expertise in planning, implementation, training, and ongoing improvement of TA software systems including ATS, CRM, HRM and onboarding software programs preferred.
  • Experience integrating several systems highly preferred.



Job Duties

  • Responsible for building and leading a new function of Human Resources that will provide a high-touch experience for new and existing employees emphasizing continuous process efficiency and results.
  • Lead the Human Resources Talent Navigation team responsible for ensuring a high touch and efficient employee life cycle activities.
  • Drive onboarding efforts from time of offer acceptance, through the pre-onboarding process to orientation and through the employees' full lifecycle.
  • Oversee a team of navigators and ensure they are well-trained HR professionals to provide friendly, reliable, and timely HR services. The Talent Navigator team is positioned to provide outstanding service to our internal customers and employees for everything from general inquiries to more complex solutions focused on matters such as compensation, leaves of absence and employment transactions.
  • Oversee a team that are subject matter experts on general HR and organizational information to effectively answer questions and help new hires navigate UTSW.
  • Compile and monitor daily production reports for work group; monitor performance standards; advise manager of performance deficiencies and all system and procedural issues which require analysis and resolution; make recommendations for re-training of employees.
  • Ensure the timely completion of all preonboarding activities including the background check process to include DPS, Occupational Health, MVR, license/certification verification and I-9 completion.
  • Work on special projects relating to issues specific to the area of assignment; make recommendations for changes in procedure to increase productivity.
  • Provide orientation and training for team members on policies, procedures, systems, and activities required to perform job.
  • Efficiently prioritizes workload to ensure all tasks are accomplished in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with departments in assigned area(s) of Human Resources to identify issues, make recommendations, and implement policies and procedures.
  • Compliance and audit management of new hire files.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
