Our Network Intelligence team is part of UnitedHealthcare's Healthcare Economics group which works with internal business partners to improve healthcare delivery financing and maximize member discounts through modeling, forecasting and analysis. We support the network development and managed care contracting efforts by providing custom analysis of proprietary and public data. The team has a broad range of expertise, including provider negotiations, financial analysis, provider reimbursement and health care claims.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Reviews various sources of competitive data/intel, including but not limited to, physician claim data and Transparency in Coverage (TIC) data to identify competitor reimbursement rates, structure, and trends
  • Analyzes data to trend and forecast UnitedHealthcare's competitive position by provider
  • Prepares presentations and presents findings to our business partners
  • Provides explanations and meaningful interpretations within area of expertise
  • Works closely with other team members to collaborate and develop conclusions
  • Creates ad hoc analysis, reporting, and innovative solutions
  • Uses business writing skills to explain relevant analysis findings clearly and concisely
  • Develops best practice process and results, based on rapidly changing healthcare environment

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience
  • 2+ years professional data analysis, interpretation, synthesis, and presentation to convey results and recommendations to internal/external partners
  • Physician contract negotiation or physician financial modeling experience
  • Intermediate or advanced level of expertise in MS Excel (formulas, sorting, filtering, formatting, v-lookups etc.)
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven excellent critical thinking skills and ability to pay attention to details
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, virtual team-oriented environment


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Transparency in Coverage data
  • Experience analyzing and manipulating large sets of healthcare data (i.e., identifying trends and patterns)
  • Knowledgeable of healthcare costs and quality topics
  • Microsoft SQL Server - SSRS/SSIS/SSMS, or PowerBI

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
