Job Summary

The Department of Educational Administration and Foundations/College of Education invites applications for one tenure-track position beginning August 16, 2025. We are seeking qualified candidates in the Foundations of Education.

Responsibilities include scholarly research/publishing, effective undergraduate and graduate teaching, and service. The normal teaching load is nine credit hours per semester. The individual in this position is thus expected to teach 3 courses each semester in the Department of Educational Administration and Foundations/College of Education.

The position is a nine-month, tenure-track appointment with the possibility of summer teaching. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. The locus of annual evaluation, tenure, and promotion in rank will be in the Department of Educational Administration and Foundations/College of Education. The Department of Educational Administration and Foundations/College of Education (EAF/COE) has built a strong reputation for scholarly work in educational leadership and policy analysis. We support teacher education with undergraduate courses in educational foundations, the academic community for this position within the department. At the graduate level, we offer master's degrees in college student personnel and PK12 principalship, and Ph.D. programs in Leadership, Equity, and Inquiry (LEI) and Higher Education Administration (HE Admin), and an Ed.D. in PK12 leadership ground in Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate with "Experienced" Membership classification.

Commensurate with experience and qualifications


Required Qualifications

1) Have an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in educational leadership or related field; however, exceptional A.B.D. candidates will also be considered with an expected completion of their doctoral degree before May 15, 2025.

2) Have at least three years of experience working in US public schools.

3) Have a strong disciplinary background, particularly in philosophy of education, demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in their teaching, research, and service through: a) the ability to work with, and be sensitive to, the educational needs of students from diverse populations including prior experience teaching and/or mentoring students from diverse cultural backgrounds; b) intellectual contributions in the areas of diversity, inclusion, and education of culturally diverse and underserved populations; c) demonstrated ability to work collegially with a campus community from diverse cultural backgrounds;

4) As mandated by state law, demonstrating oral proficiency in the English language is a requirement for this position.
