Summary:

Open to Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

Providers are responsible for delivering comprehensive medical care, collaborating closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include independent and collaborative tasks in assessment, diagnosis, treatment initiation, contributing to education, consultation, research, and clinical practice evaluation across different levels of healthcare delivery. Provides support for neonatal delivery room resuscitations as requested by the Labor and Delivery team. Responds to questions regarding events or issues with newborns in the Newborn Nursery. Provides tele-health Quick Care OnLine. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

1. Provides advanced care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions, including the delivery of acute care services.

2. Practice with a variety of specialty-based populations including neonatal, pediatric, and adult.

3. Practices in any setting in which patients require complex monitoring and therapies, high intensity intervention, or continuous vigilance within the range of high-acuity care.

4. Participates in quality monitoring through the review of records and treatment plans for patient outcomes on a bi-annual basis to assure quality care and per ORC requirements. This review is completed via the Focused Professional Performance Evaluation (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Performance Evaluation (OPPE) for Advanced Practice Providers as part of Joint Commission requirements.

5. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems.

6. Provide services in accordance with Ohio Revised Code (ORC) * 4723.94.

Detailed Responsibilities

1. Provider must be able to arrive at Mercy Health Lorain Hospital within 30 minutes when on call for delivery/Newborn Nursery service.

2. Position is shift work with three weeks on service and one week off service.

3. Shift work includes alternate weeks of day hours and night hours, including weekends and holidays. Night coverage is home call with possibility of being called to Hospital for urgent care.

Technical Expertise

1. Excellent critical thinking, self-motivation and interpersonal communication skills essential.

2. Must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and database use, and other computer software programs for

data analysis, and presentations

3. Must be proficient in telemedicine platform use

Education and Experience

1. Must obtain credentialing as an active member of medical staff and appropriate medical staff privileges.

2. Current Health Care Provider BLS and Advanced NRP training is required.
