If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer I - eVinci Mechanical Systems and Equipment.

This position is hybrid in nature requiring at least 3 days/week on-site at the 51 Bridge Street eVinci Accelerator facility in Etna, PA, and the other days telecommuting. No relocation will be provided for this position.

Your Day-to-Day:



  • With oversight, support the design, development, implementation, and analysis of complex technical products, processes, components, equipment, and/or systems related to eVinci microreactors.
  • Perform thermal, thermal/hydraulic, and piping network engineering design and analysis for eVinci projects.
  • Develop blower, pump, valve, heat exchanger, HVAC, or other equipment sizing requirements.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Support more senior engineering personnel in various design and analysis efforts.
  • Identify problems and propose solutions to projects and tasks assigned.
  • Communicate with your mentors, leads, and manager on your work's progress, status, technical issues, and schedule.
  • Interface and collaborate with other personnel regarding your areas of responsibility.
  • Participate in team, vendor, regulator, and customer meetings, as necessary, to present technical materials.
  • Perform work within established scope, budgetary, and schedule requirements.



Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:



  • BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering (Minimum 3.0 GPA).
  • General knowledge of engineering and application of first principles, uncertainty treatments, and engineering tools.
  • Experience with MathCad, MATLAB, or VBA.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software suite.
  • Familiarity with testing and testing analysis.
  • Supports the resolution of complex problems.
  • Is able to effectively communicate, understand, and support cost efficient, high quality technical solutions.
  • Knowledge in systems and/or component design and analysis, including fluid systems and/or solid-state machines and interfaces with instrumentation and control.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Highly motivated with a desire to learn and continually develop.
  • Enthusiasm for the growth of the commercial nuclear power industry and for developing new reactor/microreactor designs.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification (or P.E. Certification) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability/willingness to travel domestically and internationally on occasion.
  • Due to export control restrictions/requirements, the position is limited to either US persons, Canadian citizens, or Spanish citizens.
  • This position is Pittsburgh-based, in our 51 Bridge Street eVinci Accelerator facility.
