Volunteer Services Coordinator

AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.
What will you do?
The volunteer services coordinator helps recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers while growing the volunteer base and advancing individual and group partnerships. Market within the community to recruit new volunteers. Develop new events and opportunities for volunteers to engage with the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
- Typically serve Tuesday - Saturday to support work on the build site.
- Recruit and schedule volunteers for construction, office, ReStore, deconstruction, family services and special events opportunities.
- Assist with all aspects of volunteer management including orientations, maintenance of database, volunteer tracking and follow-up.
- Work with construction staff to ensure successful volunteer build days - signing volunteers in, providing orientation and safety briefings, helping put away tools with volunteers at the end of the day and ordering necessary volunteer supplies.
- Develop and/or revise volunteer recruitment, management and recognition tools.
This position will focus on volunteer services, brand management, home construction, home repair, homeowner services, neighborhood revitalization, Habitat ReStore, and virtual/digital systems and platforms aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

- Activities and attractions: Located in Western Connecticut, Danbury has the quintessential New England feel as well as a cosmopolitan vibrant city lifestyle. Local attractions include Candlewood Lake, Danbury Fair Mall, Quassy Amusement Park, Lake Compounce Amusement Park, and New York City is only about an hour away. There are many great parks and trails in Western CT to hike as well. Danbury is one of Connecticut's most ethnically diverse cities which brings about many ethnic restaurants. Danbury has a revitalized downtown for shopping and restaurants and public transportation is also available.
- Unique projects: Our Volunteer Services Coordinator will experience a wide variety of networking opportunities to grow our reach in the local community. These opportunities could be with the local Chambers of Commerce, Senior Centers, local Corporations, workshops and more. They will also lead and host team build days with our Construction and Aging in Place programs.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
