Environmental, Social, and Governance Analyst

Reporting to the Director of Investor Relations the ESG Analyst will work with Standard Solar and Brookfield's corporate head offices to drive ESG performance with orientation for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities



  • Work with the internal team to manage Standard Solar's ESG strategy to support Brookfield Renewable's ESG Policies, including policy drafting and implementation
  • Work with the ESG team at Brookfield Renewable to support Standard Solar's EU Taxonomy alignment and SFDR Article 9 disclosure for the Brookfield Global Transition Fund (an Article 9 fund)
  • Compile ESG data including the annual GHG inventory
  • Track and report on ESG performance by evaluating Key Performance Indicators
  • Support various internal ESG working groups to address ESG issues and help improve ESG performance
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to communicate required sustainability indicators in line with the ESG key performance indicators to achieve specified outcomes
  • Research and write reports on best practices, technology, policy, and regulatory aspects of sustainability topics
  • Support users during the implementation of a new ESG performance management platform
  • Maintain user lists, emission factor libraries, and update key performance indicators and dashboards
  • Support management and provide regular updates on progress



Requirements



  • Knowledge of sustainability trends, and ESG best practices
  • Experience working with data in Microsoft Excel, including analyzing trends and making pivot tables
  • Enthusiastic learner with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to self-motivate with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Capable of solving problems and using sound judgment
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision and proactively take initiative



Preferred Experience



  • Experience in estimating scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions
  • Experience in corporate ESG disclosures
  • Knowledge of ESG disclosure frameworks (GHG Protocol, CDP, TCFD, GRI and SASB)
  • Experience in decarbonization, human rights, biodiversity, water, or circularity



Qualifications



  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (environmental engineering, sustainability, accounting, business, climate change, finance)
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience, preferably in the energy industry
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, look up lists, graphing) and PowerPoint skills



Salary Range $70k - $80k with bonus potential
