Project Engineer, Geotech

RK&K is hiring a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Florida Team. As a Geotechnical Project Engineer at RK&K you will have the opportunity to work across disciplines to prepare plans and reports related to a variety of geotechnical projects for a variety of clients in the transportation and municipal sectors; you will conduct and supervise field investigations and develop design computations; and prepare geotechnical recommendations, contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.

Essential Function

• Assist in developing the geotechnical portion of proposals and subsurface exploration programs,
• Perform site reconnaissance and preliminary field work including hand auger borings
• Perform geotechnical analysis using approved software,
• Preparation of SHWT Reports
• Preparation of bridge, roadway soil survey and retaining wall reports and foundation recommendations,
• Foundation recommendations for miscellaneous structures (i.e. signs, signals, box culverts),
• Innovative design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering

Required Skills and Experience

• Passion for client service and engineering
• BS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
• 7 to 10+ years of Geotechnical Design experience, FDOT experience
• Professional Engineer License is required
• Significant understanding of the following: gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB-Deep, FB-Pier, Slide2, Settle3, Slope/W and GRLWEAP
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Microstation/Open Roads Designer (ORD)

Preferred Skills and Experience

• MS or advanced degree in Civil Engineering
