At RK&K, we are seeking an Environmental Scientist II to join our Natural Resources Team in Austin. As an RK&K environmental scientist you will be actively involved in a wide range of natural resource surveys and investigations (vegetation, habitat assessments, protected species, waters/wetland/stream assessments, water quality permitting). Essential Function Conduct field investigations and surveys Prepare documents and natural resource reports Conduct/assist in wetland and stream delineations, protected species surveys and habitat assessment, and other natural resource inventories Interact with clients and regulatory agencies Collaborate with other environmental professionals Required Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, or equivalent* Five (5+) years relevant environmental science experience Broad knowledge of and experience with Texas native species and natural resources Team-oriented Adept at juggling multiple tasks Excellent at written and verbal communication Motivated to find creative solutions to environmental problems Excited to work outdoors in all seasons Experience with GIS (ArcPRO) Preferred Skills and Experience Master's Degree in environmental science, biology or equivalent Candidates with experience complying with National Environmental Policy Act requirements pertaining to transportation projects Experience with 401 and 404 permitting Natural Resources experience in Texas Plant identification, wetland delineation training, TxDOT precertification, and GIS experience CPR/First Aid training Other Duties This job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
