Surgical Pathologist with Expertise in Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Pathology

The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking an outstanding candidate for a full-time faculty position with focus on clinical service, teaching and research, primarily in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary pathology.

Candidates within the first two years of completing a Gastrointestinal-Hepatobiliary Pathology fellowship are preferred, and the selected candidate will be appointed as HS Clinical Instructor or Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the HS Clinical or Clinical X career tracks, depending on the level of experience and qualifications.

Candidates must have an MD degree, or equivalent, valid California Medical License or qualifications to obtain one, GI and/or Hepatobiliary Pathology Fellowship completion or experience in GI and/or Hepatobiliary Pathology subspecialties is required, and be Board Certified or Board eligible in Anatomic Pathology by the time of appointment. Interest in covering another surgical pathology subspecialty may be accommodated but is not required. Priority will be given to candidates with demonstrated interest/success in scholarly activities such as research presentations, book chapters/reviews and original publications. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are preferred.

The individual will be expected to participate in the surgical pathology service including night and weekend call, departmental teaching activities for medical students, house-staff and fellows, interdepartmental conferences, and clinical and/or translational research.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $102,600 - $194,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
