OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANYFox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. Job Description
Fox Television Stations is hiring a new Research Director (Audience, Insights and Measurement Lead) to serve as the primary point of contact within our research, insights and media measurement hub for Tampa, Orlando and Gainesville. Responsible for gathering and analyzing insights into viewership of Fox Local audiences across our linear, app, and FAST channels. Researches media market conditions in Tampa, Orlando and Gainseville and highlights the impact of local advertising across linear and streaming TV. The lead will serve as an expert into viewership, advertising performance, and media investment, helping to highlight the value of our local news and sports content, including NFL, MLB and College Football. (This position may be based at either the Fox O&O location in Tampa or Orlando.)

Core Responsibilities

  • Analyzes internal and external data to identify opportunities and develop scalable, data-driven, competitive narratives.

  • Differentiates and establishes an expert position by telling stories with data, both visually and verbally.

  • Applies expertise in market and industry research to update news and sales teams on latest trends and developing opportunities.

  • Develops cross-functional, and cross-regional relationships and collaborates to create research presentations, insights summaries, and marketing materials.

  • Participates and leads in-market client meetings, training programs and conferences as directed.

  • Demonstrates an understanding and applies various statistical concepts, research data and methodologies, standards, and practices.

  • Recommends marketing solutions based on insights into viewer behavior and consumer trends across advertisers and industries.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

  • Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary and assigned.

Skills and Experience

  • Data Analysis: experience mining data from various sources to discover meaningful insights.

  • Media and Marketing Measurement: expertise in television ratings, digital analytics, and/or marketing performance measurement from Comscore, Nielsen, VideoAmp, Google Analytics and others.

  • Experience working with consumer behavior and industry intelligence tools such as: Scarborough, Polk, BIA, MRI, etc.

  • Intermediate-to-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel and Power Point.

  • Background and knowledge base in television and digital marketing including competitive media (AdIntel, Vivvix, etc.), impression calculations, estimate preparation and qualitative measurement.

  • 3-5 years' experience in streaming and/or television advertising.

  • Must be diligent, pay strict attention to detail and be a self-starter.

  • Familiarity with data visualization in Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, or similar preferred.

  • Experience in data analysis with SQL and/or Python preferred.
