This is a hybrid position at our Milwaukee or New York City offices. ( The Milwaukee office requires onsite M, T, and W or in our NYC office on Thursday plus 1 other day.)

The IAM Engineer (IGA) will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining IAM solutions with a particular emphasis on Identity Governance and Administration technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in IAM and IGA solutions, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and Implement IGA Solutions: Develop and deploy IGA systems to manage user identities, entitlements, and access across the organization.

  • Software Development : Write, test, and maintain code for IAM platform integration, custom connectors, and functionalities using programming languages like Java, Python, or similar.

  • Configure and Optimize IAM Tools: Work with IAM technologies, including but not limited to SailPoint, CyberArk, and Entra ID, to optimize performance and security.

  • Automation of Processes: Implement automation for user provisioning, de-provisioning, and lifecycle management.

  • Audit and Compliance: Support audits and compliance initiatives by ensuring all data and processes meet regulatory requirements.

  • Incident Management: Respond to and resolve IAM-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner.

  • Collaboration : Work closely with other IT teams, business units, and external vendors to ensure proper integration and support of IGA solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience in the IT field

  • 1-3 years of professional experience required

  • Experience with engineering best practices to include analyzing, designing, developing, deploying, and supporting software solutions, and/or infrastructure implementations/upgrades.

  • Competency with one or more scripting/programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, Ruby, Go, PowerShell, Bash, etc.

  • Ability to align and mature to security practices.

  • Ability to explain technical solutions to technical teams and non-technical teams.

  • Documentation, testing, and automation skills.

  • Ability to align technical needs to business processes.

  • Ability to prioritize work based on business objectives.

  • Ability to break down work to deliver value incrementally.

  • Experience preferred with Agile methodologies/DevOps environment.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$68,320.00

Pay Range - End:

$126,880.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
