About The Role

HARMAN made a string of strategic acquisitions seven years ago in the areas of software services and products. In these last seven years, HARMAN has carved out a niche as a SW Integration and Scaling Partner to as many as 5 large OEMs across the globe. This initiative has been housed and lead by Automotive Engineering Services BU with its large scale centers of development in Poland, Romania, Hungary, China, and India. The BU is now moving to the next level of technology innovation as OEMs invest in Software based vehicle development, the BU is set to launch a slew of new initiatives in multiple domains at the embedded and cloud level that address the complete vehicle ecosystem. AES BU is setting up a new sales organization to drive this strategy.

As the Senior Manager, Business development, you will be positioned at the forefront of the greatest technology innovation which we will be taking to market from Harman and Samsung. You will be responsible to drive this strategy and implement sales and product development programs, both short and long-range, targeted toward existing and new markets.

You will develop and implement a strategic sales plan and forecast to achieve corporate objectives for products and services and will direct sales forecasting activities, combined with direct channel development activity. You will create and cultivate strategic relationships and will be responsible for building a business HARMAN Automotive Engineering Services (AES) SBU.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement strategic sales action plans to achieve corporate goals and sales revenue targets for the North American Business portfolio.
  • Create and present strategic Account Plans to showcase initiatives that result in growth opportunities for your accounts and contribute to the five-year plan of the Automotive services division for the North American region.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Meet with key clients, assisting customer business unit representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals in line with the five year plan.
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with customer sales representatives.
  • Liaise between customer business unit department and other functions related units.
  • Track and prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion using Salesforce data always up to date.
  • Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote our solutions and services.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities and solutions of the competition.
  • Regularly monitor the sales performance across customer brand(s).
  • Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, governmental regulations, and forecast data to determine constraints and evaluate progress on mutually agreed goals and objectives.
  • Confer with leadership to review achievements and discuss required changes in sales strategies and tactics utilized in achieving sales goals or objectives.
  • Review activity, operating, and sales reports to determine required changes in existing programs or operations together with the portfolio owner of your region.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in automotive electronics business development or related experience. Experience of selling Automotive Engineering Services with a focus on Embedded Software and Cloud in North America.
  • Track record in selling in Automotive supported by creating and executing a business growth strategy.
  • Prior experience in the design and/or sale in Infotainment, Digital Cockpit, Telematics, ADAS, cloud and Connected Services is a plus.
  • Ability in working within a global matrixed organization and communicate at all levels
  • Existing relationships within the automotive executive network in a related field in North America.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced/high-pressure environment, while always maintaining good customer relations.
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly, efficiently, and accurately from varying sources.
  • Ability to take initiative, while prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
  • Flexible with a high degree of determination and perseverance.
  • Excellent time management skills

What Is Nice To Have

  • Master's in Business Administration and/or additional qualifications are welcome
  • Experience in embedded SW development is welcome

#Hybrid

Pay Transparency
$ 122,250 - $ 179,300
Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation are also available, such as bonuses or commission.

Pay is based on a wide range of factors, including, without limitation, skill set, experience, training, location, and business need. While the above range is a reasonable estimate of the wage range for this position, please note the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographical differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
