Software Development Engineer II Posted Date: Oct 29, 2024 Requisition Number: 122949 Location: Dallas, TX Overview: Are you a software engineer interested in helping to bootstrap a brand new software organization at Hershey? We are looking to hire the first few engineers for this team. We are starting from scratch so you will have a chance to participate in bringing up the entire technical stack. This team will build software across a broad range of problem domains at Hershey, spanning from supply chain to marketing to consumer insights. This is an opportunity to work on challenging problems spanning the breadth of Hershey's business. Because of the extreme ambiguity in direction, you will be expected to pick up new skills and technologies independently. In this role, you will own entire features, designing their implementation, breaking them down into individual tasks, and handing off some of those tasks to other engineers. You will consult with teammates on the best approach as appropriate. You will interact with our business partners, gaining an understanding of the business context of the features and the larger team. You are expected to be able to diagnose and fix typical bugs in the team's codebase. You usually produce acceptable code without much feedback.
