Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
The Community/Economic Development Manager for the NC A&T Real Estate Foundation (
REF) reports directly to the Executive Director and will serve as lead staff for acquisition and development projects.
This position will focus on providing strategic vision for the Foundation's economic and community development efforts in East Greensboro, the community surrounding the university, leading to major acquisitions of real estate. |

In 2014-2015, in response to the Preeminence 2020 Plan and the call for A&T as the anchor institution to lead the economic transformation of East Greensboro after decades of negligent and disinvestment, the University Foundation was repositioned as the NC A&T Real Estate Foundation.
The
NCATAREF owns and operates off-campus apartment communities and has broken ground on the first phase of The Resurgent. The Resurgent is a mixed-use development aimed at brining services, amenities and jobs to east Greensboro.. |
Minimum Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. |
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education |
- Five (5+) years of experience in real estate development, economic development, business development, or a related field.
- Familiarity with government policies, regulations, and programs related to economic development.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles.
- Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, and on a team, manage projects, and meet deadlines.
