Overview Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This position will be located at NASA's Langley Research Center. EOE/Minority/Female/Disabled/Veteran Responsibilities The successful candidate will join a team to support maintenance activities at NASA LaRC. This work will include identification of repeated causes of failure in support of root cause failure analysis and equipment lifecycle assessments (to include nameplate data verification and failure reporting), as well as mechanical equipment/system field verification. Shall follow safety policies and procedures and perform all work according to existing policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of quality and workmanship in performing the duties. (OSHA Lockout/ Tagout program) is an added advantage. Experience in operating and maintaining rotating machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic system, pumps, valves and cooling water systems is desirable. Will perform field verification of equipment information as well as failure reporting and other reliability related tasks. Must be able to read relevant technical drawings and specifications. Relevant military training or aviation maintenance training is a plus. Qualifications U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. Two (2) years of college with courses in engineering, mathematics, or science, and four (4) years relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of relevant education/experience for a total of six (6) years. |
