NOTE:

Starting wage is $20.10. Once they become certified, they will move to $21.05. Existing employees with a higher wage than what is posted will need to be discussed on an individual basis.

Responsibilities:

The Platemaking MPT operator is responsible for the safe operation of photopolymer platemaking equipment, mounting equipment and sleeve retrieval system. This responsibility includes the safe performance of those tasks necessary to produce and mount a quality printing plate.

* Interpret and use production schedules

* Utilize the SOC database for specific mounting tapes used and any special instructions for the job

* Mount plates using Heaford mount unit

* Select and apply sticky back

* Strip sticky back from sleeves when sleeves are returned

* Know how to read tape and measuring equipment, add/subtract/divide measurements for accurate mounting

* Complete process verification forms after each job

* Prepare and handle photopolymer material

* Operate beta flex machine

* Operate Kongsberg table (cuts plates and scribes plate numbers)

* Operate exposure unit

* Operate Esco CDI 42x60 imaging and computer system

* Verify plate relief utilizing Micrometer

* Remove and replace developer rolls as needed

* Maintain a safe, clean work area

* Update plate file system as needed

* Receive flexographic printing plates into applicable computer system

* Identify corrupt plate files and reorder/replace as necessary

* Maintain accurate inventory data

* Clean and maintain printing sleeves

* Operate Sleeve carousel

* Inspect photopolymer plates for accuracy

* Analyze platemounting defects and perform immediate corrective action

* Record daily production data

* Order/request supplies as needed

* Produce and package plates for other Sealed Air facilities

* Communicate with Production Control regarding production schedule, ramrods, move-ups, and throughput as needed

* Self-Manage and work harmoniously in team environment

* Perform other duties as requested or needed to support the team environment

Interaction required with:

* Team members

* Vendors

* Graphics

Physical Requirements:

* Occasional bending and lifting of items up to 50 pounds as needed (Lifting of items exceeding 50 pounds but less than 100 pounds will require a two person lift)

* Work with and around various solvents, inks, corn starch and cleaning chemicals

* Sit, stand, stoop, squat, bend, and reach overhead as needed

* Stand on concrete floors for 12-hour shifts

* Push/pull objects as needed

* Utilize fine manipulation skills (including but not limited to the use of a utility knife, scissors, tape measure, typing, writing, and hand tools)

* Must be able to distinguish colors for product quality purposes

* Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management at all levels

* Must be able to follow all safety processes and procedures

* Utilize communication skills to effectively express both oral and writtenideas individually or in group settings

* Utilize interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with a variety ofindividuals and groups

* Work overtime and weekends as scheduled

Qualifications:

* Working knowledge of computers and basic keyboarding skills

* Process manufacturing experience

* Proven ability to perform basic math and measurement tasks

* High school diploma or G.E.D. required
