Job Description

The Department of Bioengineering at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus seeks a part-time Lecturer. The major responsibilities for this position are to work with university faculty and industry partners to develop online, asynchronous content for four Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs courses that will lead to a certificate, create in-person experiential learning activities with input from industry hosts, and teach at least one online, asynchronous class each semester once the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs Certificate Program launches in Fall 2025. We value the ability to engage effectively with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds.

The U.S. life sciences industry employs 2.2 million people and continues to grow rapidly, creating intense competition for a limited talent pool. Companies reported importing talent from other states and countries to meet these needs while also removing barriers by expanding remote positions and reconsidering baseline educational requirements. As the biotechnology sector strives to improve health equity, it will be critical to train, recruit, and retain an inclusive and equitable workforce. Many companies report recruiting individuals with certificates, often strategically partnering with institutes of higher education to train and secure the talent required. The University of Colorado, Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus has partnered with the Colorado Bioscience Institute and nearly 40 representatives from industry to build a micro-credential program and diversify the workforce in Colorado and across the United States. Online, non-degree pathways are an innovative new tool for learner-centered inclusivity and aligning educational outcomes with industrial needs.

This position is a temporary, non-tenure track position paid on a per-course basis. Assignments are dependent upon student enrollments and are paid on a per course basis. There are no travel and relocation expenses available.
