The Opportunity:

We are looking for a talented and driven EV Charger Maintenance Engineer to become part of our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. Additionally, you will ensure EV chargers operate at optimal efficiency, address service issues, and contribute to ongoing enhancements in charging technology. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of electrical systems, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a passion for advancing sustainable transportation solutions.

Responsibilities:



  • Perform regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on EV charging stations, covering hardware, software, and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, including electrical faults, communication issues, and hardware failures.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and ensure maximum charger availability.
  • Work closely with technical support teams to diagnose and fix more complex issues.
  • Offer remote support to onsite technicians and provide resolutions for individual cases.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, industry regulations, and internal company procedures.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records and service logs for each charging station.
  • Test, calibrate, and update the software and firmware on charging equipment when necessary.
  • Train site personnel on the operation and basic maintenance of EV charging stations.
  • Provide training to service partners and customer technicians on maintaining LGE chargers.
  • Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to manage warranty claims and facilitate part replacements.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new EV charging stations as required.
  • Recommend infrastructure improvements based on maintenance insights and best industry practices.
  • Be prepared to travel up to 80% of the time for maintenance or onsite investigations.


Qualifications / Education / Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within EV charging, power electronics, or similar technology sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, circuit diagrams, and power distribution.
  • Experience with EV charging technologies, particularly Level 2 and DC fast chargers, is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with network protocols (e.g., OCPP) and ISO 15118, as well as software troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment.


Certifications:



  • Electrical certification or licensing (e.g., Journeyman Electrician) is preferred.
  • EV-specific certifications (e.g., from manufacturers like ChargePoint, ABB, Tesla) are highly beneficial.
  • Additional certifications such as NFPA 70E or OSHA 10/30 are considered a plus.

  • Physical Requirements:
  • Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and install heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Willingness to travel across multiple sites as required.
