The Opportunity:

As an Regulatory and Compliance Engineering Manager, you will manage a team of Regulatory and Compliance Support Engineers to support the sales team with related inquiries as well as develop Product and Applications Materials. Additionally, you will support Product Management with regulatory and compliance knowledge and help develop requirements for future developments. The Regulatory and Compliance Engineering Manager will be part of a team responsible for Air and Water Source VRF systems, Single and Multi Split systems, respective Indoor Units and Heat Recovery Units, Chillers, Heating products, and more.

You will manage the LGEUS Split System Product Support Engineering team to ensure key engineering team initiatives are met in the following areas:

Product Support and Application:



  • Identify strategic product needs and requirements to feed Product Management.
  • Develop application scenarios and requirements to support the business/technical case with Product Management.
  • Provide technical review for new/existing products and materials.
  • Review product design against product requirements.
  • Develop competitive product and application strategies.
  • Provide support to other teams in creation and review of catalogs, brochures, submittals, guide specifications, engineering manuals, etc.
  • Support product compliance and code application.
  • DOE, AHRI, UL, building code, and other requirement considerations.


Product Applications and Knowledge Transfer:



  • Support proper split system product application and knowledge transfer to field through creating applications materials.
  • Provide product/applications training to sales and reps.
  • Work with sales and reps on specific applications challenges.
  • Support/collaborate with operations team escalated aftermarket support.


Industry and Market:



  • Keep track of industry developments, competitive products, and overall industry movement to ensure alignment of product and application strategy.
  • Be aware of developments in standards committees to ensure LG can meet coming code changes.
  • Continued discussion with sales team and reps to keep up with market developments and gather information to further develop competitive product and application strategies.
  • Track regulatory developments and influence testing and certification standard developments that affect product categories.


Promote Personnel Growth:



  • Identify opportunities for Engineers to be involved in job meetings, rep training/information gathering.
  • ASHRAE presentations, and other areas that promote LG's technology.
  • Promote career development opportunities and consider career paths for team members.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in US commercial and/or residential HVAC industry.
  • Experience in the following would be a plus.
  • Technical product applications support.
  • Successful history of interaction with factory R&D teams.
  • Heat pump systems.
  • Experience as Applications Engineer or other related experience such as Consulting Engineer, Contracting, Sales, or Product Management.
  • Management of direct reports.
