About the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology

The Woodruff School graduates high caliber mechanical engineers for a demanding profession. Mechanical engineers are the foundation of today's technological world. To do so, we provide enhanced facilities and laboratories to create the best learning environment and we attract outstanding faculty and students. In this period of rapid technological change, the Woodruff School produces mechanical engineers who are vital to our future. With approximately 3,000 students,100 faculty members, and 70 staff members, we are one of the largest mechanical engineering programs in the country. Atlanta, GA

The G.W.Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia, invites applications for a Lecturer appointment (non-tenure track faculty positions) with concentration in Mechanical Engineering design. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise and strong teaching interests in design methods, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), machine design, design prototyping, design computation, etc.

The Lecturer will be responsible for teaching and curriculum support in the area of design related courses in mechanical engineering. Candidates are expected to adopt innovative educational practices as they develop and teach these courses. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching 3 to 4 class and/or studio sections in each of the fall and spring semesters, and 1 to 2 class sections in the summer semester. Course sections to be taught are primarily at the undergraduate level and include but are not limited to sections of ME 1670-Engineering Graphics, ME 2110-Creative Decisions and Design, ME 3180-Machine Design, ME 3210-Design, Materials, and Manufacture, and ME 4182-Capstone Design.
• Advising and mentoring students working on projects in design classes when appropriate.
• Assisting with development and management of the school's curriculum.
• Contributing to internal and external service activities.

Senior Lecturer

• Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related area
• At least six (6) years full-time relevant experience

Doctoral degree or equivalent educational experience in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
