As a Chemical Processing Technician, you will support and perform chemical processing operations for corrosion control, including acid etching and chromate conversion. You will be responsible for processing aerospace components through inspection, cleaning, masking, chemical treatment, and verification. Your work is a vital part of the Chemical Processing Facility and Integrated Supply Chain, ensuring precision, quality, and safety in the preparation of parts for space missions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Chemical Processing: Perform corrosion control on aerospace components using processes such as acid etching and chromate conversion.

  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate and monitor tanklines used for chemical cleaning, etching, and coating of parts, ensuring proper processing before final finish or assembly.

  • Handling & Transport: Use overhead cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment to manage hardware throughout the chemical processing facility.

  • Quality Control: Conduct visual inspections to verify that parts meet quality standards before and after processing. Maintain a clean, organized work environment and comply with 5S, FOD, and ESD standards.

  • Process Monitoring: Conduct chemical titration and other methods to analyze and adjust chemical systems in tanks.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on pumps, tanks, and other equipment, ensuring proper functionality.

  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside engineers, supervisors, and fellow technicians to troubleshoot issues and optimize chemical processing operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing or a related environment, including 2 years in chemical processing.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality standards.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and operate lifting machinery for heavier hardware.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical issues.

  • Ability to follow directions, meet deadlines, and contribute positively in a team environment.

  • Experience performing chemical analysis and process adjustments.

  • Must be willing to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with corrosion control in aerospace, medical, or other precision industries.

  • Familiarity with industrial fluid systems and applied chemistry principles.

  • Certifications or formal education in a related field.

  • Experience with forklifts, aerial lifts, and crane operations.
