Lead Engineer Your Day-to-Day:
- Work with Manager to resource the eVinci component work identifying gaps and supporting schedule development.
- Lead key technical teams, providing oversight while delegating work and mentoring team members.
- Interface with stakeholders on design progress, technical issues, cost and schedule
- Encourage technical excellence and rigor in the group's work, including offering peer check opportunities.
- Support manager in assuring appropriate headcount, resource qualification and critical skills to support the eVinci component design.
- Support manger in development of resources, including regular check-ins, review of TLDP progression, assignments for development, onboarding of new hires, etc.
- Work with component, system and manufacturing leads on the integration of the subsystems and work through emergent design issues.
- Work with project managers and subsystem/component leads to develop and maintain project schedules, including reviewing and driving budgets and schedule deliverables/milestones
- Identify and define technical issues, risks and challenges, direct efforts to successful resolution.
- Incorporate the use of industry, regulatory, or NRC/DOE/ASME codes, standards, and criteria pertinent to nuclear reactors in design activities.
- Provide technical guidance, direction, and collaborate with other personnel including partners such as national laboratories, sub-contractors, partners, suppliers, fabricators, and customers.
- Adaptable and flexible to changes in strategy, market, design or manufacturing
- Work highly independent, capability of not only mentoring engineers, but also the capability of effectively leading a team of engineers in the execution of complex tasks
- Strong personal accountability for delivery of high-quality engineering.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, (alternate degrees such as nuclear, aerospace, structural engineering, or materials science, etc. will be considered)
- Knowledge and experience in system or component level design
- Significant experience in a technical leadership role, either as a technical lead or project manager - with aspects of design, analysis and manufacturing and with the ability to manage teams in challenging situations with complex tasks
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong teamwork skills
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
- Minimum of 10 years of experience required
- Required: US Person
