Location: Assembly Drive, Rockford, IL 61109

Shift: 2nd Shift

The primary function of this position is to address the day-to-day functions of the warehouse staff applicable to the shift, and to provide direction along with coaching to the warehouse staff. They will support Planning, Production, Sales, Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

  • Address the day-to-day functions of the warehouse staff on his/her shift. Provide direction to the warehouse staff as they support Planning, Production, Sales, Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing operations.

  • Supervise and schedule the daily activities of the warehouse staff on his/her staff.

  • Schedule work for special and periodic inventories.

  • Recommend and participate in counseling (disciplinary) activities.

  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow. Issue written and oral instructions.

  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.

  • Assist in writing departmental work practices and applicable SOP's.

  • Maintain harmony among warehouse staff and resolve grievances.

  • This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.

  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.

  • Attendance to work is an essential function of this position.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

  • Perform the duties of the Warehouse Manager in his/her absence.

  • Ensure proper movement, placement, and storage of all materials from component receipt to shipment of finished goods.

  • Maintain standards established by cGMP, SOP, and other practices.

  • Examine the work of the warehouse staff for exactness, neatness, and conformance to established policies and procedures.

  • Maintain and ensure adherence to inventory standards.

  • Liaison with both internal and external customers as regards component receipt and finished goods shipment.

  • Manage primary waste stream of material as it is generated in the course of production.

  • Review records for accuracy of information, compliance with established procedures, and determination of adequacy of stock levels.

  • Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.

  • Assist with planning the layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering factors for items stored such as turnover, size, weight, and related factors.

  • Advise warehouse staff on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped.

  • Advise warehouse staff on proper methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock.

  • Study records and recommend remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.

  • Maintain and ensure adherence to all safety standards and policies.

  • Maintain and ensure adherence to housekeeping standards.

  • Assist in training and retraining of the warehouse staff including monthly cGMP and safety training.

  • Provide back-up function for all warehouse activities, when necessary, to include creation of reservations and printing of Staging Transfer Requests and Material Issuance Confirmation.

  • Assist in the management of any and all satellite facilities.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 1-5 years related experience and/or training.

  • College Level Mathematical Skills

  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.

  • Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.

  • Very High Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in math or diagram form and deal with several abstract/concrete variables.

Preferred:

  • Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires.

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.

  • Ability to display excellent time management skills.
