Role Description:

In the role of Director, Infrastructure Engineering, you will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for modern on-premises and cloud infrastructure, applications, and networks. You will be accountable for developing and executing comprehensive infrastructure roadmaps, establishing standards, and defining measurable metrics that ensure alignment with the organization's technical vision and business objectives. By ensuring Safety National's infrastructure engineering teams are well-organized into agile scrum teams leveraging the SAFe framework to consistently deliver high-quality services, your impact will be felt across the entire enterprise.

Your primary responsibilities as a Director, Infrastructure Engineering are to lead the Infrastructure Engineering Unit, which includes Platform Engineering, Core Infrastructure, Collaboration, End User Computing, and Systems Operations teams. As such, you will deliver scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure services to Safety National. Developing, communicating, and driving a clear infrastructure roadmap aligned with organizational priorities, focusing on high availability, security, and scalability through modern practices such as platform engineering and cloud-native architectures will be required of you. Additionally, you will foster a DevSecOps culture, promoting automation, continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD), and collaboration between software engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to streamline workflows and enhance system reliability.

The ideal candidate is someone with 10 or more years of experience Information Technology and a proven success leading technical teams. Someone with proven success managing their resources effectively, including participating in forecasting, allocation, and prioritization, to ensure the agile teams operate efficiently and deliver value in alignment with sprint goals under the SAFe methodology is highly desired. Finally, someone who is experience in collaborating with software engineering and security teams in pursuit of seamless integration of DevSecOps principles, securing both cloud and on-premises environments, while leveraging automation and infrastructure as code (IaC) is preferred.

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Technology Management or similar preferred


Required Qualifications:



  • 10 or more years of experience in the I.T. field
  • 5 or more years of experience managing and leading technical teams
  • Extensive experience in various Cloud Platforms and proficiency in Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and common cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and Azure DevOps
  • Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform
  • Virtualization & Storage - Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper-V
  • Proficiency in managing Microsoft Active Directory, including Group Policy Objects (GPO), as well as experience working with Windows Server and Linux
  • environments (Ubuntu)
  • Willingness to adhere to a hybrid work schedule with a maximum of 2 days per week of work from home and 3 days per week in office or visiting brokers and clients
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel


      Preferred Qualifications:



      • Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions like AirWatch and InTune
      • Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning to ensure operational resilience.
      • Background in Workers' Compensation, Commercial Auto and General Liability
      • Insurance designations are a plus (to include CPCU, CLCS, AINS, AIS, etc).

It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
