Summary of Job Duties:Summary Of Job Duties
This faculty position requires a commitment to teaching in a dynamic technical college setting and the ability to successfully interact and respond to the broad ranging needs of an academically and culturally diverse campus setting. The successful candidate will join our instructional team this Fall. Duties and other responsibilities of this position include: Teaching a variety of aerospace subject areas including, but not limited to, Aviation Physics, Basic Electricity, Technical Math, Aircraft Engine Overhaul, Sheet Metal, Aircraft Systems, Avionic Systems, Fuel Systems, Auxiliary Systems, Turbine Engines, Lubrication Systems, and Propeller Systems. Participates in ongoing curriculum development, implementation, assessment and evaluations. Utilizes innovative teaching strategies to meet learning objectives as defined by federal aviation regulations. Plans and organizes lesson plans, reference materials, syllabi, technical and other aerospace specific training aids. Maintain professional competence and participates in professional development activities. Performs other related tasks as assigned. Maintains an established schedule. Establish and maintain positive collaborative working relationships with students, colleagues and staff. Candidates for this position must possess a thorough knowledge of the aerospace field, federal aviation regulations, have a commitment to high academic standards and a dedication to student success. Maintains student folders. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • An FAA Airframe and Powerplant rating is required.
  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed.
  • Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; must be customer oriented and able willing to develop and maintain a good rapport with students, co-workers and staff.
  • Dependability, reliability, punctuality and confidentiality are essential.
  • Possess independent judgment, decision-making and problem solving skills.
  • Adheres to UA-PTC policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • Two years teaching in an FAA certified instructional facility as an A & P.
  • An Associate's Degree or higher in an Aerospace field.
  • Certification as a test proctor for FAA exams.
