UMKC Conservatory is accepting applications for a part time Audio Recording Assistant. In this role, you will assist the recording studio of the UMKC Conservatory in capturing a variety of events, including ensemble concerts, student/faculty/guest artist recitals, dance performances, special events, and recording sessions. These events occur both on and off campus, and frequently take place in the evening and/or during the weekend.

Other duties include, but are not limited to:

• Live sound reinforcement (system engineering and operation)
• Audio mastering
• Audio/Video archiving (preparation, digitization/transfer, and metadata entry)
• Archival file digitization/uploading
• Video recording (camera setup and operation)
• Video post-production (editing, audio layback, and media exporting)

A high school diploma and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

* Bachelor's Degree in audio engineering or a related field

* At least 2 years of audio-specific training (college-level coursework, trade school, or on-the-job experience) is a plus

* Hands-on experience with the recording and editing of classical music

* Prior experience with Pro Tools, Davinci Resolve, and Dante audio networking

* Minimum 2 years of audio-specific training (college-level coursework, trade school, or on-the-job experience)

* An interest in classical and/or jazz music

* Thorough understanding of stereo microphone techniques

$15.00 per hour.
