Role Description:

In the role of Security Architect, you will be part of a dynamic team that lives Safety National's Core Values of Relationships, Integrity, Teamwork, Balance and Stability. You will work closely with Vice President & Chief Information Security Officer. Your contributions of planning and designing activities, assurance and collaboration across the organization and aligned with the organizations' strategic goals will be felt throughout Safety National.

Along with your day-to-day responsibilities as a Security Architect, this role is fully remote to Safety National. Some of your duties will include planning and designing activities, assurance and collaboration across the organization and aligning with the organizations' strategic goals. You will play an integral role in defining and assessing the organization's security strategy, architecture and practices. You will be required to effectively translate business objectives and risk management strategies into specific security processes enabled by security technologies and services. Ensuring confidentiality, integrity, availability and safety of data including cloud, network and endpoint security, strengthening a safe and secure culture in collaboration with IT teams and the business.

There are three distinct roles this person will play in this position: Planning and Design Activities, Assurance Activities and Collaboration. For Planning and Design, you will develop, maintain and educate on privacy and security architecture process that enables the company to develop and implement secure solutions and capability's that clearly aligned with business, technology and threat drivers. Additionally, you will develop and maintain privacy and security architecture artifacts that can be used to leverage security capabilities in projects and operations.

Assurance Activities will conduct of tracking developments and changes in digital business and identifying threats to ensure they are adequately addressed in security strategy plans and architecture artifacts. Other assurance activities will be coordinating validation of security configurations and access to security infrastructure tools including firewalls, IPA's WAF's and anti-malware/endpoint protection systems.

Lastly you will collaborate. Collaboration with IT, Business, and security teams to ensure that security architecture supports the needs of the business. Provides guidance on information security topics, advising and collaborating on privacy and security matters with other organizational units. You will be acting as a liaison with the business continuity management team to validate security practices for business continuity testing and operations when a fail over occurs.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong working knowledge of vulnerability management tools and hands-on experience of managing security infrastructure. Some of the essentials skills required of you in this role are, experience reviewing application code for security vulnerability and securing CI/CD pipelines, experience designing the deployment of applications and infrastructure into public cloud services, full-stack knowledge of IT infrastructure and strong working knowledge of IT service management. Prior experience with Sarbanes-Oxley, Privacy Practices, NIST Cybersecurity Framework is preferred.

Qualifications:

Education:



  • A Bachelor's degree in IT related field preferred (Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security)


Required Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in IT with a focus on Security
  • Possess 2 or more approved certifications within job area
  • Direct, hands-on experience or a strong working knowledge of managing security infrastructure - firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web application firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM and log management technology.
  • Experience reviewing application code for security vulnerability and securing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong working knowledge of vulnerability management tools.
  • Experience designing the deployment of applications and infrastructure into public cloud services.
  • Full-stack knowledge of IT infrastructure.
  • Direct experience designing Identity Access Management technologies and services.
  • Strong working knowledge of IT service management (ITIL-related disciplines).

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
