Description
The entry-level Clinical Research Coordinator 1(CRC) will support research in advanced home-based care, specifically to carry out studies of home hospital for patients with dementia. These studies deploy to the home trained and upskilled care team members, wearable biosensors, machine learning analytics, and other health information technology (HIT). The CRC will have a diversity of roles and should be competent after training to perform all of the following: 1) patient identification; 2) physician support; 3) patient-facing surveys and functional tests; 4) field-based (home and other facility) visits for surveys and functional tests; 5) electronic health record (EHR) review and abstraction; 6) data input; 7) data analysis; and 8) other study-related tasks. The CRC needs to be comfortable working independently both in the hospital and in the field (home and other facility). Access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license preferred, but not a requirement. The CRC will support all activities associated with the execution of the research plan including Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and organizing communication with participants, collaborators, and project staff. The CRC will use REDCap to assist with data collection and analysis. The position requires strong communication, organizational, and analytic skills. The CRC's responsibilities will also include administrative tasks and literature searches. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Writing samples will be requested. Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred. The Division of General Internal Medicine and Primary Care (DGIM) holds an annual Research Day forum for CRCs to showcase their contributions via oral and poster presentations and promote professional development through a career panel discussion.

Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree required and an interest in healthcare and the use of technology to support clinical care. * Prior healthcare experience preferred. * Familiarity with electronic health records, REDCap, and MS Office preferred. * Experience in any physiology- or neurology-related field preferred.
* Responsible for database management: create, input data, query, import/export, and restructure database, forms and queries as needed using Excel, REDCap, and other software to meet the study team's needs. * Excellent interpersonal skills required for working with hospital leadership, patients, and study staff. * Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect. * Regard for patient privacy essential. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks. * Ability to work independently with only general supervision. * Ability to complete work and to meet deadlines. * Competency in Microsoft Office.
