Job Summary

The part-time Instructional Technologist will play a key role in supporting professional learning initiatives across the Rio Salado College Adult Education program, in alignment with the Arizona Department of Education Adult Education Services state initiatives and the program's annual Professional Learning Implementation Plan. Reporting to the Instructional Services Director, this position will assist with identifying professional learning needs, planning and facilitating program-wide and location-specific professional learning sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of professional learning to support best practices for teaching, learning, and assessment across instructional modalities. The Instructional Technologist will follow up with professional learning participants, in collaboration with Instructional Directors, to support instructional teams implementing the approved adult education curriculum and initiatives. They will also analyze professional learning feedback to inform future sessions. The Instructional Technologist will collaborate closely with instructional teams to enhance teaching practices and foster continuous learning within the program.

To best serve the staff, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on location with the possibility of remote work.

Essential Functions

30% - Collaborates with the Instructional Services Director to assess professional learning needs; contributes to the planning and execution of both program-wide and location-specific professional learning activities
30% - Provides ongoing support and approved resources to instructional staff for the implementation of curriculum, professional learning strategies, and new academic initiatives
20% - Facilitates and supports professional learning sessions, ensuring alignment with curricular developments, instructional strategies, and program goals
20% - Reviews and assesses the effectiveness of professional learning activities, including the tracking of professional learning outcomes. Analyzes and reports on feedback from professional learning participants to incorporate effective strategies into future professional learning activities. Assists in maintaining professional learning records and documentation annually to support program reporting to the Arizona Department of Education

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in instructional design, training and development, educational technology or related field and four years of experience in instructional design and development, program and systems development and/or assessment and evaluation.

OR

An equivalent combination the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Special Requirements:
Must be able to obtain Arizona Department of Education Adult Education Certification within 60 days of hire (which includes AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card).

Desired Qualifications

A. Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or closely related field.
B. Two (2) or more years of experience in instructional design, technology integration, or professional learning development
C. Experience working in K-20, adult education, or higher education environments
D. Demonstrated experience facilitating professional learning workshops or training
E. Familiarity with curriculum design frameworks (e.g. Universal Design for Learning, Integrated Education and Training)
F. Ability to stay current with emerging trends in instructional technology and professional learning
G. Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback, coaching, and support to instructional teams

Special Working Conditions

May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs. Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving:http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements. Requires some mornings and or weekends. The primary work location is: RSC Tempe: 2323 W. 14th Street., Tempe, AZ 85281. May require occasional work at other college sites and some local travel
