Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager will support the achievement of plant objectives through managing, planning, and execution of maintenance programs and projects, and efficiently manages to achieve results through the maintenance team, maintenance supervisors, engineers, and union hourly employees. You will be responsible for building a culture with an unconditional stance on safety and accountable to deliver stable and reliable plant operations. A successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership, training, development, and engagement of all maintenance employees.

The Maintenance Manager will support the achievement of plant objectives through managing, planning, and execution of maintenance programs and projects, and efficiently manages to achieve results through the maintenance team, maintenance supervisors, engineers, and union hourly employees. You will be responsible for building a culture with an unconditional stance on safety and accountable to deliver stable and reliable plant operations. A successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership, training, development, and engagement of all maintenance employees.

This position will oversee maintenance for one of the largest plants in terms of people (around 160 employees) and revenue in the division. Given the importance of the plant / scope of the role this is a highly visible position for career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing maintenance functions for a large Manufacturing site and a highly complex facility.
  • Develops a positive high energy accountable team to bring state of the art solutions to a growing business.
  • Areas included are building utility systems, equipment maintenance and building and grounds maintenance.
  • Budget responsibility for the Maintenance department.
  • Ensures that maintenance department objectives are met including project, cost, quality, and safety factors.
  • Daily management of maintenance department (PM & predictive maintenance program, Work Order system, equipment/system repairs, upgrades, daily planning/communication, safety performance.
  • Maintain condition of facilities to protect assets and in compliance with corporate and division standards.
  • Direct maintenance team and provide skilled, motivated personnel for effective repairs & capital/alteration projects.
  • Provide training as necessary to insure proper skill level.
  • Maintain stores and spare equipment systems to support plant needs.
  • Provide technical expertise to analyze and resolve recurring issues limiting plant performance or affecting plant repair costs.
  • Support plant-wide Process Safety Management (PSM) and Hardhat safety efforts.
  • Improve Maintenance efficiencies and develop best practices.
  • Perform job duties in a manner that follows food safety and quality guidelines including but not limited to HACCP, GMPs, QA Policies, etc.

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a science, engineering (ChE, ME, IE, or EE), or related field.
  • 12 years manufacturing experience, with at least 4years of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Maintenance Manager in an industrial environment (a bachelor's degree in Mech, ChE, or EE Engineering or related field could possibly be substituted for years of experience).
  • An understanding of mechanical reliability and maintenance principles.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Maintenance procedures
    • Electrical distribution systems
    • MRIS programs
    • Safe work practices
    • Electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
    • Preventative/Predictive Maintenance
    • Facilities Maintenance
  • Experience in Utilities, Boilers, High Speed Rotating Equipment, Pumps, Air, Refrigeration.
  • Experience working with PSM and MIQA.
  • Effective communication with all levels of the organization including technicians, engineers, contractors, and management.
  • Able to plan prioritize and implement multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Willing and able to climb, stand, and walk on a regular basis while performing the job.
  • Demonstrated ability to build teams and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Team player with the ability to gain consensus through collaboration and open dialogue.

Salary Ranges:

$118,600.00 - $178,000.00
