Overview

100% remote in the following states: CA, FL, GA, ID, IL, NY, MN, MS, VA, WI (optional hybrid in Minneapolis, MN).

Ampact strives to establish itself as the leading provider of high-quality AmeriCorps programs nationwide. The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Regional Leadership is responsible for working with state-based Executive Directors (EDs) and the VP of National Expansion to grow the reach and impact of Ampact programs in existing states while also expanding into new states.



Responsibilities

Essential Functions

1.Execute Strategic Priorities for Organizational Growth: Lead the implementation of a subset of strategies focused on growth, as articulated in the strategic plan, including sustaining and growing in existing states and expanding into new states. Oversee the assignment of tasks and ensure effective execution.

2. Lead Revenue Strategy and Financials

    Manage State Funding Strategy: Understand the nuances of funding processes in different states. Work in collaboration with ServeMinnesota's Chief Policy and Growth Officer to manage the development of state-specific strategies and timelines and ensure accountability for meeting goals. Act as a connector between state leaders to facilitate sharing of insights and strategies.
  • Advance AmeriCorps Funding: Engage in and support strategies to grow federal AmeriCorps funding at Ampact, contributing to long-term sustainability. Work in coordination with ServeMinnesota's Chief Policy and Growth Officer to execute strategies.
  • Support Local Philanthropy Efforts: Drive the development of systems to enhance local philanthropy across regions. Support the team to regularly update the discovery process to identify and engage with local funders. Enable the team's abilities to build relationships, apply for grants, and align our strategies with funders' interests. Develop a thoughtful approach to budgeting and strategy. Learn from successful fundraising organizations to improve our local efforts.
  • Execute National Funding Strategies: Collaborate with ServeMinnesota to create and execute strategies for securing national funding. Track and document fundraising efforts and interactions with potential funders using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure organized management.
  • Develop Site Fee Structures: Continue to develop and refine site fee structures to diversify funding streams and enhance financial stability.
  • Support Budgets: Act as a liaison between finance and executive directors (EDs) to refine budgeting processes. Support EDs in developing their budgeting skills, including ability to forecast, plan, monitor, and control expenditures. Ensure the budgeting process is effective and continuously evolving. Create annual revenue targets for each state to align with growth plans.

3. Lead Teams

  • Provide Guidance, Supervision and Support: Be a reliable advisor and thought partner for EDs, offering support and guidance to help them achieve their goals. Help them determine when additional information or external assistance is needed. Facilitate collaboration among EDs to share best practices and learn from one another. Provide direct supervision to EDs.
  • Create Professional Growth Opportunities: Identify and create growth opportunities for EDs, acknowledging and leveraging their varying levels of experience, skills and backgrounds. Invest in leadership development to help EDs grow and effectively lead their teams. Develop and execute onboarding processes for new EDs.
  • Optimize State Team Structure: Assist in determining the timing and structure for new hires, as well as decreases in staffing on state teams. Promote best practices in staffing patterns to build efficient and effective teams. Drive towards teams delivering key performance indicators.

4. Foster Collaboration for National & Local Alignment: Support the coordination, collaboration and communication of centralized services and decision making in regional teams versus national teams. Help build national alignment while being flexible/consider local need for differentiation. Maintain strong internal relationships to collaboratively address complex issues and develop solutions.

5. Understand Expansion Best Practices: Investigate and implement best practices for organizational expansion into new markets. Support the VP of National Expansion to do their best work. Provide direct supervision to the VP of National Expansion.



Qualifications

Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Education, or a related field.

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum of 12 years of leadership and management experience in a growth-oriented organization; prefer experience working in a company that has a national and regional structure.
  • Proven experience taking initiative to successfully grow a business, an organization, or program.
  • Proven experience creating and executing a diversified revenue strategy in a nonprofit organization; strategy must have been for a minimum of $3 million.
  • Proven experience fundraising, with strong focus on government and grant funding (foundations, corporations). Must have direct experience securing new grants/funders and sustaining others.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • High data literacy skills, meaning the ability to read, understand, and use data to make informed decisions.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with fiscal management, data analysis and forecasting.
  • Proven experience in supervising and coaching high-performing teams.
  • Passion for the mission and vision of Ampact, with a commitment to educational equity and community service.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required

  • Travel to various states as needed to support and guide Executive Directors and regional teams or to represent the organization

  • Transporting of moderately heavy objects up to 25 pounds
