The opportunity

The School of Engineering, Technology, and Aeronautics (SETA) at Southern New Hampshire University invites applications for a full-time faculty Instructor appointment for the Construction Management (CM) program. You will report to the Dean of SETA for this on-site role and bring your industry experience to the classroom to engage students and lead them toward roles in the construction industry. We seek faculty who can contribute vision, energy, and real-world experience to educate and lead the next generation of construction managers. We seek colleagues who are committed to excellence in undergraduate education and who value hands-on project-based learning as part of a curriculum designed to prepare students to be industry ready upon graduation.

You'll Get To:

  • Prep for and deliver content for assigned courses. These may include introductory, intermediate, and advanced construction courses. The class sessions are scheduled as either 75 minutes in duration and meeting twice a week or as sessions lasting 150 minutes that meet once a week.
  • Mentor students in the department for their academic needs and overall development
  • Access and assess student work and provide feedback.
  • Facilitate experiential learning opportunities where students may work in teams on real-world tasks for skill development.
  • Use Brightspace (the Learning Management System) to support the course and host course materials.
  • Help develop new instructional materials, techniques and course offerings to deliver the most comprehensive undergraduate Construction Management program in New England.

What we're Looking For:

  • Experience managing commercial constructions projects along with demonstrated practical knowledge of construction building materials, means/methods, planning, logistics, and meets one of the two minimum requirements listed below:
    • Hold a Master's degree or Ph.D. with a minimum 5 years of industry experience in a construction management role.
    • Hold a Bachelor's degree with a minimum 8 years of industry experience in a construction management role.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $60,000.00 - $85,000.00. Actual offer will be based on experience, skills, degree, discipline and other business and organizational needs.
