ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)

Working within a team environment, responsible for corporate actions processing support for securities held in client accounts. Manages daily processing flow, analyzing reporting and resolving exceptions in a timely basis. Strong attention to detail and problem resolution skills are critical to succeeding in this position.

Corporate Actions and Income Processing supports the corporate action, class action, proxy, dividends, and fixed income functions for the Key Private Bank and Institutional Advisors. This department is expected to ensure a high level of client service while also ensuring that risks to the organization are mitigated.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs a variety of analytical functions associated with the processing of corporate actions on our custody system, Global Plus. Processes voluntary corporate actions such as conversions, consent solicitations, exchanges, mergers, optional dividends, puts, rights offerings, tender offers, and warrants. Processes mandatory corporate actions such as spin-offs, name changes, bankruptcies, reorganizations, rights redemptions, bond defaults, and worthless assets.
  • Processes these corporate actions in a timely and accurate manner to limit liability to the corporation in a highly sensitive area.
  • Prepares client notification of pending corporate actions. Communicates information to administrative officers and investment managers to allow various parties to make informed investment decisions. Follows up with account officers to ensure timely processing of client elections.
  • Supports and backups the processing of income derived from equities, limited partnerships, and fixed income securities such as as bonds, certificates of deposit, collateralized mortgage obligations, and mortgage-backed securities.
  • Supports daily balancing of bond maturities and redemptions.
  • Supports research on class action payments received for closed trust accounts.
  • Analyzes information received and performs a variety of accounting, control, and processing functions leveraging knowledge of generally acceptable accounting principles and securities industry procedures to properly accomplish underlying transactions.
  • Resolves exceptions resulting from internal processing to affect accounting entries in a timely and accurate manner, while limiting liability to bank.
  • Maintains detailed, accurate, and organized files.
  • Reviews work processes for opportunities for improvement. Initiates, develops, and implements process improvements.
  • Participates in annual review and update of procedures. Assists in development of detailed desktop procedures and process flows for process changes and implementation of new processes
  • Cross-trains on other unit desks to expand knowledge base and to assist with open desk coverage.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year degree in Business or Finance or equivalent work experience. Industry experience or related analytical work experience is helpful.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $50,000 to $55,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
