The Project Scientist works independently and in cooperation with the Principal Investigator, team members and collaborators to make significant and creative contributions to our sarcoma projects. The Project Scientist will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our organoid pipeline, including but not limited to coordinating sample procurement, sample processing, screening schedule and operation, data transfer. The Project Scientist will also be responsible to train undergraduate and graduate students to process tissue and use automation, prepare manuscripts for publications in scientific journals and assist with preparation of grant proposals. The successful candidate should also be comfortable with clinical tissue processing. Basic working knowledge of different types of automated high throughput equipment is preferred. Ability to work independently in a high pace, multi-disciplinary environment is essential for this position. This position requires a master or PhD in Bioengineering, Biochemistry or Biology and at least 1 year of research experience in clinical sample handling. Previous experience in high throughput screening assays is preferred. The Project Scientist position is a non-Senate position for 12-months in the first instance, renewable depending on funding and performance. Step is commensurate with experience. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: * Coordinate and perform tissue processing, seed or bioprint tumor organoids, coordinate imaging and run drug screenings optimizing use of our established organoid pipeline Qualifications Basic qualifications
PhD or similar. Preferred qualifications
