Job Summary Maricopa Community Colleges District Office is seeking a detail and compliance-oriented Safety and Risk Analyst! Be a crucial part of creating and executing comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety programs designed specifically for colleges, all while following the Districtwide safety plan. Drive compliance with laws, regulations, codes, and policies through a proactive approach that includes conducting inspections, and audits, providing training, and analyzing loss data. Act as a Health, Safety, and Environmental SME/ liaison between the colleges and the Risk Management department. 20% - Risk Analysis/Management
10% - Other Risk Management duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Services, Business or Public Administration and three (3) years of professional safety, occupational or environmental health management experience that includes two (2) years of leading programs. OR Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Services, Business or Public Administration and five (5) years of professional safety, occupational or environmental health management experience that includes three (3) years of leading programs. OR High School Diploma/GED and seven (7) years of professional safety, occupational or environmental health management experience that includes four (4) years of leading programs. Desired Qualifications A. Three (3) years of experience speaking to (including creating and delivering presentations) a large cross-section of employees including front-line staff, supervisors, and upper management. B. Two (2) years of experience in conducting safety and risk control assessments (i.e., inspections, job hazard analysis, ergonomic assessments, etc.). Experience in analyzing data, creating charts & graphs for loss data trending, and writing reports for use in developing mitigation strategies. C. Experience in Occupational Safety & Health and providing consultation/advisory support at all levels of the organization or currently holds any of the following designations: Associate Safety Professional, Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Occupational Health & Safety Technician (OHST). D. Minimum of a current OSHA 501 General Industry Trainer Authorization. E. Experience working with a Public Entity or Institution of Higher Learning. F. Advanced speaking, writing, and critical thinking skills. G. Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite to develop or update training materials, compile reports, presentations, program databases, etc. Special Working Conditions * May be required to work at multiple sites or locations in both indoor or outside working environments. * May be required to sit for extended periods of time. * May be required to lift or carry up to 50 lbs. infrequently and 30 lbs. frequently. * Possess a valid AZ Class D driver's license; must meet MCCCD minimum standards regarding driving. * May be required to wear various forms of Personal Protective Equipment.
