The Senior Compensation Analyst will assist with overall administration of cash compensation programs for Fred Hutch, focusing on compensation analyses, consultation, administration and project/program planning of diverse compensation programs.



Responsibilities

    Conduct ad hoc analysis of jobs, salaries and market trends to evaluate relative market value and internal equity for a variety of jobs and compensation programs; prepare and present data-driven recommendations to management to support informed decision making.
  • Plan and administer base salary compensation programs; review salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, provide clear interpretation of and sound counsel on compensation policies and practices, maintain job and compensation program data, and effectively coordinate related processes with other internal staff and departments.
  • Evaluate requests for new or revised FLSA, title, pay, and salary grade classifications by collecting and analyzing job descriptions, external data and internal comparisons to determine classifications that ensure market competitiveness, internal equity and legal compliance.
  • Partner with various HR team members and Fred Hutch managers to develop compensation solutions and competitive salary offers. Address a wide variety of compensation issues through creative, data-supported approaches
  • Participate in developing, maintaining and implementing policies and practices that promote an understandable and consistent framework for Fred Hutch compensation programs.
  • Research, recommend and implement salary budgets and compensation structure adjustments considering market trends, internal and external economic factors and the organization's strategic goals.
    Perform comprehensive assessments of market competitiveness across broad job groups or departments. Conduct benchmarking audits, develop analytical reports, perform follow up research as needed, and present recommendations and cost models for management consideration.
  • Participate in planning, leading and administering annual pay increase programs for the organization from initial budget projection stages through execution of individual pay transactions and post-program assessments.
  • Participate in the design, development/selection, implementation and maintenance of analytical tools.
  • Respond to salary surveys and participate in salary survey steering committees; maintain and build relationships with peers at other institutions to foster support for commissioned surveys and best practices research.
  • Assist with maintaining job descriptions to be used for a variety of purposes, including job pricing and the development of standards for cross-organizational positions.
  • Act as technical lead by training and mentoring lower level staff, modeling professionalism and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of compensation analysis experience.
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with Word and HRIS.
  • Knowledge of general compensation practices and related regulations.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, analytical, consultative, project management and communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex data effectively.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse stakeholders to develop compensation solutions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Compensation Professional
  • Experience in healthcare, research or academic environments
  • Experience using Workday, PeopleSoft and/or MarketPay
  • Thorough understanding of the various compensation program, related policies and administrative processes at Fred Hutch

The annual base salary range for this position is from $107,536 to $169,956, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
