HJF is seeking a Physical Therapist II, Part-Time to provide professional skills coordinating and leading a study evaluating the efficacy of a novel, patient-centered treatment against standard physical therapy. This position is a part-time role up to 20 hours per week.

This position will be in support of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center at Brooke Army Medical Center, located on JBSA-Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the setup of the study and training the government physical therapist staff to deliver study treatment. This position will not be delivering treatment to minimize bias.
  • Consent patients and conduct baseline evaluations and follow-up evaluations for patients enrolled in the study.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance, organize team meetings, and provide input on training other PTs for this intervention.
  • Responsible for the development of the final training package.
  • Leads and oversees study implementation as a subject matter expert.
  • Responsible for the analysis and reporting of the findings.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree in Physical Therapy required.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years experience required.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registration as a Physical Therapist with the American Physical Therapy Association.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of physical therapy materials and equipment and their economic and beneficial use.
  • Knowledge of human subjects research and related regulations.
  • Knowledge of the principles regarding Mild Traumatic Brain Injury.
  • Prior experience working in military and government settings.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in a hospital setting.

Compensation

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $35.48-$45.67. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
