Job Overview The Associate, Business Strategy is recognized as a trusted, collaborative, and results-oriented leader, business partner, and change agent who excels in leading through influence and possesses professional maturity and industry credibility. They work closely with Merchandising leaders and cross-functional teams, prioritizing trust-building with their teams and key collaborators. This role involves swiftly evaluating and phasing out legacy approaches that no longer align with strategic goals. The ideal candidate is known for visionary thinking and a commitment to speed, applying analytical rigor, structured problem-solving, and strategic support. Reporting to the Senior Director, Business Strategy under the SVP, General Merchandise Manager, the team focuses on driving growth and addressing evolving business needs. In this role, responsibilities include supporting cross-functional projects, gaining exposure to high-level functional teams and key partners, addressing significant challenges in Macy's and the retail industry, developing strategic partnerships for accelerated growth, managing projects directly for the SVP, and gaining comprehensive exposure across all aspects of the retail business. Collaboration: Strong capability to build trusted relationships and work closely with Merchandising leaders and cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Tools: Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to synthesize critical insights and develop actionable recommendations. Self-Motivation: Self-starter with a proactive attitude, able to work independently with minimal guidance. Adaptability: Ability to perform in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment. Market Awareness: Curiosity and awareness of market changes and new trends.
