JOB TITLE: Operator
Production
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Operator performs manual labor along a production line. Operates and troubleshoots production line machinery. May perform minor repairs as necessary. Efficiently performs tasks while keeping safety and quality first.

Working Conditions and Physical requirements include:
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment and involve work around operating equipment.
- Working a rotating 12-hour or 8-hour shift schedule or future scheduling option is required.
- Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 55 lbs.
- Standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, walking, reaching, climbing ladders and stooping, and repetitive use of hands, wrists, and forearms.
- Use of personal protection equipment (PPE) is required, including safety glasses and steel toe shoes, and, when required and/or appropriate, gloves, heat protective equipment and suits, Tyvek
suits, dust mask, respirator, and other PPE as determined appropriate. - Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted.
- Work involves continuous work which cannot be easily or economically interrupted for breaks except at regularly scheduled intervals.
- Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary to produce product within specification and reject product outside of specifications.
- Satisfactory pulmonary fitness testing and maintenance of personal hygiene for use of respirator and
breathing protection equipment is required. - Attach identification labels to finished items, or cut/print stencil information for packaging.
- Perform a combination of manual and/or automated tasks necessary to efficiently produce, package. Store and ship the product.
- Clean and make minor adjustments to machinery such as opening or closing valves.
- Regulate machine flow, speed or temperature.
- Safely operate within standard operating procedures, (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
- Troubleshoot production line machinery.
- Safely operate a forklift to load, stack and warehouse palletized product.
- Perform equipment change-overs. Assemble boxes, Replenish packing supplies such as boxes or labels.
- Clean and maintain work areas.
- Weigh finished products verifying and adjusting weight to meet specifications.
- Accurately complete necessary paperwork for production, packaging, shipping, warehousing and deliver to the proper person as required.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on production line machinery.
- Perform back up for warehouse
- Provide on-the-job training for new employees
- Other Duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skill requirements include:
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Good reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required. WorkKeys testing required.
- Ability to follow direction effectively.
- Must be able to operate independently within a team environment.
- Must pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 55 LBS required.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Forklift operation experience is preferred.
