JOB TITLE: Insurance Verification Specialist

General Description of Duties:

Verification of medical insurance for all scheduled patients including active eligibility, policy benefits and calculation of patient responsibility estimates prior to services being rendered.

REQUIREMENTS:

1-2 years experience in healthcare insurance billing, verification, collections and/or authorizations.
Knowledge of national/federal insurance networks as well as local insurance networks. High school graduate or GED.

ABILITIES/SKILLS:

• Ability to work effectively and professionally with patients, medical staff members and external agencies.
• Skilled in written and verbal communication and customer relations.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a timely manner.
• Must be able to navigate multiple computer software systems and medical insurance portals.
