Senior Planner, Global Planning

Overview

The Senior Supply Chain Planner is a key member of the Global Planning team inside the Supply Chain organization and is responsible for the planning and oversight of Drug Substance and Drug Product manufacturing for the early-stage pipeline. This position works closely with key stake holders including: Program Teams, Process Sciences, CMC, Internal and External Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Finance to ensure seamless supply of Clinical Trial Material. This role will also be a key contributor to the global Clinical S&OP process with development of processes associated with proprietary and partner programs. The successful candidate is expected to excel in a collaborative work environment, exhibits strong attention to detail and has the ability to apply purposeful urgency.

This position is hybrid and will be primarily located in Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Early-Stage Global Planning
    • Contributor to the performance of the Global Planning team
    • Partner with CMC, Process Sciences, Program Team, QA, QC, Finance, Supply Chain and Material Management to ensure material availability in line with clinical program timelines, dynamics and budget
    • Supports recurring budget reviews to ensure manufacturing plans are timely and accurate for financial planning purposes
  • Clinical Supply & Operations Planning (S&OP)
    • Apply continuous improvement mindset to Clinical Supply and Operations Planning Process (CS&OP)
    • Prepare business case to facilitate decision-making having strategic and financial impact
  • Capacity Planning
    • Works cross-functionally to develop scenario plans and strategies that result in production plans that meet program, capacity and budget requirements
    • Collaborates with external partners to ensure drug substance and drug product supply needs are met in line with contractual obligations
    • Develops annual long range manufacturing plans and investment plans based on available information, highlighting areas of constraint
  • Reporting & Analytics
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with all functions across the enterprise
    • Ability to work independently on projects or problems to meet departmental objectives Troubleshoots and identifies bottlenecks and suggests solutions
    • Attention to detail and performs with a high degree of accuracy

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or science-related discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a Manufacturing or Supply Chain role with experience in Production, Planning, or Scheduling
  • Experience with site capacity planning and/or global product supply planning and knowledge of Biotech, Pharmaceutical Sales & Operations Planning processes.
  • Excellent math and computer skills required, including Microsoft Office/Excel/PowerPoint.
  • Good knowledge of computerized production and inventory control systems (SAP) and documentation practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities against ambitious timelines. Strong project management ability
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to communicate to multiple levels within company. Ability to present complex information to all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally as critical member of site team
  • ERP planning experience a plus.
  • APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) a plus.
